    Indeed @derekl. Perhaps they are confusing it with the A303. At the other end of the country, the A82 alongside Loch Lomond is indeed very beautiful.

    Oh dear - the Great West Way (or A4) goes nowhere near Salisbury and Stonehenge - it is far further north, more or less following the route of the railway from Paddington to Bristol. That said, I have travelled most of the routes identified here and can vouch that they are (probably) some of the best scenic routes I have come across
