Big, blue and beautiful
They may be considered 'fun-size' in comparison to the Great Lakes of Africa and America, but Europe's vast natural lakes are spectacular in their own right. Many were borne out of the last Ice Age, with the majority found in the Baltic region and a handful scattered across Alpine areas in central and southern parts of the continent. Given current events, we at loveEXPLORING would not promote travel to Russia right now, which means some lakes have been omitted from this list.
