Having grown up in Massachusetts, I find your choice of an ugly concrete bridge in need of maintenance rather lame. How about the (Revolutionary War era) Concord Bridge, the Longfellow Bridge accross the Charles, the Weeks footbridge connecting Harvard campuses on either bank of the Charles, the 2003 cable stay Zakim Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge. or the twin WPA era Sagamore and Bourne bridges accross the Cape Cod Canal? Dike Bridge connecting East Beach to Chappaquidick Island... we'll drive off that bridge when we come to it!
Incredible feats of engineering
There are over 600,000 bridges in America. Many of them are incredible feats of modern engineering, while others are steeped in history. Here we take you on a tour of the most impressive bridge in every US state and DC.
Scroll through the gallery to see how we've (subjectively) ranked the most amazing bridges in America...

Some one dropped the ball. The Meridian Bridge in Yankton, SD should have made the list. It is a double decker bridge; one lane above the other one. Its pretty cool. They retired it from vehicle use in 2008 and it is a walking bridge now, but I still remember driving across it.
