I rather like exploring "this overpriced little country." You don't waste two hours waiting and queueing at an airport, another 4 or 5 hours flying, half an hour to collect suitcase and clear passport control and another hour on the coach to the hotel. Each way. Plus this year there's still the possibility of having to quarantine on return. I know the article can't include every location in Britain, but I think Chester deserved a mention with its city walls, Roman remains, and a large zoo a short bus ride away.

All very nice if you can afford this overpriced little country. I'll holiday abroad for typically half the cost.
