Celebrities know how to holiday in style. With a cash flow that we mere mortals can only dream of, they’re able to splash out on the best hotel suites around the world. Whether they’re honeymooning on a private island paradise or checking into a city centre bolthole with oodles of space, they know which rooms to book for a star-worthy stay. From Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s London penthouse to a Cannes Film Festival favourite, here are the hotel suites that the A-listers just love to stay in.

Jumby Bay Island, Antigua, Caribbean
Lionel Messi, Justin Bieber and Hilary Swank have something in common – they have all been guests at Jumby Bay Island in Antigua & Barbuda. The all-inclusive private island – which has also played host to Mariah Carey, Will Smith and Paul McCartney – is accessible only by boat, adding to the feeling of exclusivity. Surrounded by tropical greenery and almost five miles (8km) of shoreline, the resort comprises 28 suites. The best is the Estate Suite, which has a wrap-around patio and master bedroom leading to a garden with an outdoor bath and rain shower.

Ever wondered what Beyoncé and Jay-Z look for in a hotel? It could be incredible city views from multiple rooftop terraces, a private butler service, marble bathrooms or giant chandeliers. All of this comes as standard in the Royal Penthouse Suite at London’s Corinthia hotel, where the superstar couple stayed. And they are in good company – other celebs to have splashed out on a stay here include Lady Gaga. The suite is a cut above, with its own lift, private spa access and walk-in wine cellar.
Gaya Island Resort, Kota Kinabalu, Borneo
Dame Judi Dench stayed at Gaya Island Resort, just off the coast of Kota Kinabalu, to film her Wild Borneo Adventure documentary. The island is home to sheltered coral reefs, mangroves and the sandy expanse of Malohom Bay. Snorkelling expeditions are led by the hotel’s resident marine biologist. Dotted amongst the hillside, the villas have views of ancient rainforests and Mount Kinabalu – the highest mountain in Borneo and Malaysia. The spa is set amidst the treetops and offers treatments such as Malay massages and honey and avocado seed facials.
Spa Village Resort, Tembok, Bali
Keira Knightley checked into one of the Baruna and Samudra villas during her stay at Spa Village Resort in Tembok, on Bali’s northeast coast. With their own private entry, plus a plunge pool with panoramic sea views, these one-bedroom suites have a traditional Balinese feel, with beds crafted by local artists and woven ceilings throughout. The resort is ideal for a wellness break thanks to a menu of daily spa treatments, such as candlelit massages under the stars and invigorating foot scrubs using dried jackfruit leaves.
Nobu Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
For A-listers wanting to enjoy some downtime, Vegas is just the ticket. And Caesars Palace – known for its collection of 25 opulent villas – is one of the most highly reputed celeb hangouts in Sin City. The Nobu Hotel, a boutique hotel within Caesars Palace, is home to the exquisite three-bedroom, Nobu Hotel Villa, with past guests including Jennifer Lopez, Demi Lovato, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. The Japanese theme extends to the roof terrace with its zen garden and onsen tub.

During the Cannes Film Festival, celebrities flock to the French Riviera, and one hotel, in particular, stands out from the crowd – the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc. Located in the heart of the Sunset Strip, with hidden villas and private suites, the Sunset Marquis Hotel is loved by celebrities looking for a Hollywood hideaway. Locations don’t get much glitzier than Venice, with its marble palaces, romantic waterways and fashionable locals. Plenty of rock ‘n’ roll royalty has stayed at The Edgewater in downtown Seattle, including The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones and Foo Fighters. Guests get to borrow guitars, sheet music and record players. Prince Harry stayed at the 5-star Broadmoor Resort during his visit to Colorado Springs in 2013 for the Warrior Games. His room was located in the west building complex, where the two-bedroom Parker Suite is the grandest accommodation option. Kristen Stewart, Kendall Jenner, Zayn Malik and Jared Leto all check into The Bowery when they’re in town. Opened in 2007, it’s super hip, with a dimly-lit lobby, plush velvet sofas, open fire, dark wood furnishings and potted plants. The Penthouse Terrace Suite is the most impressive place to stay, with epic views of the New York skyline from its private, 14th-floor patio and floor-to-ceiling windows.
