It's hard to leave Bahia Honda State Park's RV site, which sits right in the heart of the Florida Keys' state park just off the Bahia Honda Bridge, as views like this will have you mesmerised. This RV park needs no pool, as you've got direct access to beautiful white-sand beaches and the calm waters of the North Atlantic.

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, Orlando
If you're RV touring with kids, camping just across the lake from the Magic Kingdom has to be the only way to go. At the recently refurbished Fort Wilderness Resort, you can park up among the cypress and pine trees and discover various adventure activities. Take the woodland trails, splash around in the pool or try out the corkscrew slide, learn archery or go canoeing. There's even a dog park on site so the family pet can come too.

This RV site doesn't rest on its wild laurels though, as it still has a great pool, dog park and communal pavilion, plus there's fast wifi.
Florida Caverns State Park, Marianna
These impressive caves are an arresting sight, and what better way to make the most of them than by camping next door? Set yourselves up here for a few nights and you'll get easy access to these cavernous rocks, plus the Bluehole Swimming Area and barbecue pavilions. Bring your kayak or canoe and you can even get out on the Chipola River too.
Fort Pickens Campground, Pensacola
If you're into history, this campground next to a 19th-century fortress is the one to book. You can wander the archways and bastions of the fortress, which were built around 1819 to defend Pensacola Bay and the nearby Navy Depot, and enjoy access to some gorgeous beaches on the Gulf Islands National Seashore. The wildlife in these parts is rather unusual too, with armadillos roaming free and seabirds like pelicans to spot out on the water.

Juniper Springs National Recreation Area, Ocala
Wild swimmers will love camping at Juniper Springs National Recreation Area thanks to the spectacular freshwater pools that have formed here. The water is crystal clear and swaying tape grass thrives beneath the surface, where you might also spot American eels slithering amid the greenery. Dry off in the shade of oak trees at your RV spot, then head out on a hike on the Juniper Run Nature Trail.

St George Island State Park, St George Island
Wildlife is the highlight at St George Island State Park's RV site, as you'll be able to spot everything from handsome herons and ospreys to dolphins and sea turtles from your pitch. There are gorgeous beaches on the doorstep and brilliant opportunities for angling if you've got your own rods. At night, be sure to switch off the lights so you can do a spot of stargazing.

The Flamingo Campground has all the amenities you could need (picnic tables, grills and even an amphitheatre for winter nights), while offering access to the nearby Christian Point Trail and Bear Lake's Beach within the Everglades National Park.
Compass RV Park, St Augustine
Three different sections of this RV park offer different experiences, from small, low-key pitches to larger, more luxurious spots to park your camper. There's a pool for cooling off and a couple of fishing ponds, plus a fitness centre for active types. Save your legs for a walk, though, as there are hiking and nature trails nearby. Peppered with fortresses from the Spanish-American war of the 1800s and fringed by white sands and swaying palms, this is a perfect little slice of paradise. Belle Parc RV Resort, Brooksville
Taking its name from the French for 'beautiful park', this RV park really does deserve its moniker: old oak, pine and beech trees provide dappled shade throughout, while a lake is often visited by herons and cranes. The facilities are pretty swish too, with a pool, hot tub, shuffleboard court and a fishing pier. Evenings can be spent around the big firepit, or on your RV pitch's private decking.

Midway Campground, Big Cypress National Preserve
Set within Big Cypress National Preserve in central southern Florida, this campground has great pitches for RVs. Expect to be surrounded by lush palms and green lawns on the park itself, and venture out to find those enormous cypress trees in the preserve. There are ranger-led activities such as discovery walks and canoeing. Come night-time, the dark skies are spectacular here.

This excellent RV park, which sits almost on the sands of Beverly Beach, is heavenly. You'll wake to the sounds of the ocean, and if you're up early enough you'll witness the sunrise over the seas. There are few facilities here, but that's no matter as the views really are the main event. Don't miss a meal at the nearby Turtle Shack Cafe, which serves truly special seared tuna steaks.

Sitting within the lake-peppered landscape northwest of Orlando, this lovely RV park is hemmed in by water and lush forest. Get a lakeside or canal-front plot for peaceful views of the water around Lake Harris, or choose a smaller plot inland. You'll get use of a fishing pier and boat slips for launching your own vessel, and you can travel by boat across the lake to the region's excellent waterfront restaurants and bars.
Rock Crusher Canyon RV Resort, Crystal River
Don't let the rather intimidating name put you off, Rock Crusher Canyon is a truly gorgeous RV park. Leafy and packed with excellent amenities, including a covered pool and hot tub, adventure playground for the kids and a clubhouse with plenty of activities, it's a brilliant west Florida base. Nearby, go swimming at the turquoise Three Sisters Springs, or explore the Crystal River Preserve State Park.
Golden Palms Motorcoach Resort, Fort Myers
Set around a small lake on the outskirts of Fort Myers, this is no ordinary RV park. Each plot offers 840 square feet (78sqm) on which you can create your ultimate camping setup. Around the site you'll find pickleball courts, a sauna, heated and cooled outdoor pool, hot tub and even a saltwater pool. Nature trails abound for afternoon walks, while you can get about in the electric golf carts.
The Tides Resort, Palmetto
This upscale RV park has a roster of excellent events throughout the year, from pool tournaments to happy hour with live music. There are exercise classes in the pool and pickleball classes, as well as a mobile hair salon for a spot of pampering. There's also a hot tub, posh clubhouse and a shuffleboard court. Plots are surrounded by manicured lawns and borders, with a good number of them right on the lakefront for gorgeous views.
Bluewater Key, Key West
Right in the heart of the Florida Keys, this RV park enjoys one of Florida's most spectacular locations, just off the Overseas Highway. Surrounded by azure water and with waterfront hammocks and deck chairs, it's all about the ocean here. There's a temperature-controlled pool for those who don't fancy a dip in the sea, though, as well as private plots with tiki huts and boat docks. Don't miss a visit to nearby Key West, where Ernest Hemingway's House is a compelling visit.

On the northwest coast of Florida, this RV park is a great base for access to stunning beaches and the Point Washington State Forest. There are excellent facilities on site too, including hot tubs, a swimming pool with a water slide, and the Pudgy Pineapple food truck brings surf and turf to your plate throughout spring and summer.
Jetty Park Campground, Cape Canaveral
This RV park sees two engineering feats come together: spaceships and cruise ships. Located right next to Port Canaveral, you can spot the mammoth cruise ships coming in to dock here before heading off to the South or Caribbean. Meanwhile, space launches by the likes of NASA and SpaceX will have astro-enthusiasts staring at the skies. On the site, you've got communal firepits and shuffleboard courts, while nearby Float Beach is a popular stretch of sand.
KOA, Kissimmee
Kampgrounds of America runs exceptionally family-friendly sites, and its Kissimmee RV park has everything the kids could want – including easy access to Disney. Expect pools for both adults and kids, an off-leash dog park, plus a hot tub and sauna. Kids will love the giant 'jumping pillow' and castle-themed playground.
Ocean Grove, St Augustine
There's lots to do at this excellent RV site in St Augustine on Florida's east coast: a clubhouse with a pool table, air hockey, foosball and ping-pong table provide hours of fun, while a pool with loungers offers somewhere to relax in the sun. It's just a short walk to the white-sand beach from here too, and it's seven miles (11km) to downtown St Augustine, which is the oldest city in the USA and has plenty of fascinating historic sites and museums to explore.
