The Amazon rainforest covers an awe-inspiring 2.6 million square miles (6.7m sq km), spanning Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela. It’s home to an incredible three million plant and animal species, as well as around 400 different Indigenous groups. Yet this ecologically and culturally rich landscape is under threat.
