Spanish Localisation Editor (Freelance) wanted
Can you help grow our audience in Spanish-speaking countries?
Looking for a diverse freelance job in digital publishing and want to work flexibly from home? If you like writing in Spanish, can inspire readers with your copy and are fluent in English, this could be the opportunity you’re looking for.
Love Inc is a successful, expanding digital lifestyle publishing company based in the UK with a global focus. Our brands include loveMONEY, loveFOOD, loveEXPLORING and lovePROPERTY. Our Spanish Language Team works with third-party partner sites in Spain and across Latin America.
We are currently looking for UK-based freelance Spanish language localisation experts to localise our editorial features from English into lively, conversational Spanish that will be enjoyed by a Spanish language audience. We are not looking for straightforward translations; writing with flair as well as accuracy is essential.
We are ideally looking for someone who can commit to a minimum of one week per month during office hours (8:30 AM to 5:00 PM), with the option to work additional hours and days.
We are a fully remote working company.
What we’re looking for from you:
-
Fluent Spanish speaker with strong Spanish writing skills, preferably with a background in journalism, digital publishing or translation;
-
Fluency in English;
-
A self-starting, diligent attitude with meticulous attention to detail;
-
A keen interest in the subject matter areas we cover;
-
Experience with a CMS (preferred, but not mandatory);
-
Based in the UK and with the right to work here (mandatory).
The role will require you to perform the following tasks:
-
Proofreading and quality assurance of translations from the subject areas of travel, food and drink, money and property, ensuring content is engaging and appealing in Spanish for online publication;
-
Localising content to the key markets to make it relevant and suitable for a Spanish-speaking audience;
-
Writing compelling headlines and image selection (full training will be provided);
-
Working with a content calendar plan;
-
Uploading content to a CMS (full training will be provided).
