I am a British writer and photographer who moved to central Portugal in 2007 and swiftly fell in love with the country. I help independent travellers discover the beauty and culture of Portugal and plan their own trips by providing information, inspiration and tips for travelling in Portugal through my popular blog, Julie Dawn Fox in Portugal. Getting value for money is important to me, which led me to write this book, Money Saving Tips For Travel in Portugal. I've also written Travel 42 Guides for Lisbon, Porto and Portugal and contributed to the DK EyeWitness Travel Guides to Lisbon, Portugal and Europe as well as The Huffington Post, CNN, AFAR and publications like The Ritz-Carlton Magazine and Destinations of the World Magazine. I've also created and published my own self-guided walking itineraries for Porto and Lisbon and self-guided DIY itineraries for Portugal.
