I wonder why you're not mentioning the Russian Empire which was 8.8 million square miles? The Russian Empire was one of the largest empires in history, reaching its maximum territorial extent in 1895 under Tsar Nicholas II. The empire spanned approximately 22.8 million square kilometers (8.8 million square miles), covering a vast portion of Europe, Asia, and parts of North America (Alaska, before its sale to the United States in 1867).
